Most of the updates can be seen either on the Facebook page or on the US group. I will attempt to copy and paste them here as well for our non-social media users!

Bunk-a-Biker Service Announcement!
In the last few months, I’ve received a few reports of mild discomfort from some of the hosts. While they’ve enjoyed all of their guests, some of them had an offensive odor when they showed up and refused the offer of a shower. It’s a difficult subject to talk about with people because of possible mental or health issues that cause it, plus it’s a fairly private matter all around. So if you’re going to someone’s house, please shower when you get there. Confrontation is hard for many people and someone’s offer of a shower is sometimes just a nice thing to do and other times, it’s because you need it. Either way, I know how stinky you can get on the road and how it’s not that bad for the one who is stinky, so please be thoughtful and shower for those around you. You are on their property or in their home, it’s the least you can do to show consideration. Thank you.
I will be adding “please shower when you show up to someone’s house” on the Bunkabiker.org/guestinfo article on the website as well.
PS. That probably means you’re due for laundry too so please also take the offer to wash your clothes.
Happy bunking everyone!

Bunk-a-Biker Service Announcement!
Many of you have seen my post about the disrespectful people's texts towards me. I shared it because I want everyone to feel comfortable speaking to me if something like that happens, but in all reality, the members won't have the problems I have. Since I am the "leader" here, I will always be a target for people to harass or to be pissed at because they got kicked out, muted, had a post removed, or feel slighted in any way. That's one of my main roles here is to take the brunt of any issues and I will always be happy to deal with it so you guys don't have to. Usually, these people are cowards and hide behind fake numbers and fake names so I treat them as seriously as I do scam accounts; delete, block, move on. Again, if anything happens directly through Bunk-a-Biker, please let me know either way.
Second point: if you'd like to take extra steps to feel safer as a host, you're always welcome to ask for references, pictures of DL/passport, pictures of bikes/plates, and social media links. If you're a guest and want to put your hosts at ease with a simple resume, that's an option too. I tossed up a sample one here for you guys to be inspired by if you decide to make one. Just don't forget to cover the numbers as they can be used to steal your identity.
Last point: BaB will never have a rating system nor a system to store confidential information. I never want anyone here to have a false sense of security because someone offered a potentially fake DL or phone number. It is up to each of you to evaluate your choices when participating in sharing hospitality and listening to your instincts. (Just remember, giving your DL at the hotel never stopped anyone from committing crimes while there.) I am also not interested in paying the large sums of money to make the website for that, nor being responsible if there is a security breach on the stored data.
Anyway, thank y'all so much for being awesome and happy bunking this year!

Bunk-a-Biker Service Announcement... again...
As this year’s motorcycle events start kicking off, it’s time we update and remind everyone of the purpose of BaB. BaB is not meant to be used as a destination stop (unless the host is okay with it), but especially not during a rally or in a densely compacted tourist area. It’s designed for meeting people along your route to whatever your destination is. Many people make a good portion of their yearly income during events like Sturgis and Daytona so expecting to stay multiple days for free is not okay. (So using it to get to Sturgis is okay, using it to stay at Sturgis is not) The same goes for major tourist areas like popular beaches, Key West, national parks, etc. The other consequence of abusing this system during those events is the hosts in those areas will get so swamped with requests that they decide to stop hosting altogether. So in the interest of the hosts in destination areas, I will be speaking to them to see if they’d like to hide their pin during events and make sure they aren’t feeling abused overall. Remember, the first goal of Bunk-a-Biker is community with saving money being a side benefit.
We also will be removing posts from here on out that are asking for bunks during major motorcycle events. I really don’t think any host can deal with 16,000 bikers trying to camp on their yard during the rallies. (any post made before this announcement will get a pass)
Thank you everyone and happy bunking!
(PS. This is the Purpose Statement of BaB and it is posted on all group descriptions, on the website, and everywhere else I could squeeze it.)
